Museum News, Museum of the American Military Family

We truly appreciate everyone who supports the Museum of the American Military Family. Thanks to sponsorships from individuals and organizations, we are able to keep our work going. Our volunteer board members  give their time, skills, and resources to help MAMF create important projects and offer valuable work-study and paid internships to 13—and counting—students from the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College. We also offer unpaid service learning opportunities for high school and college students.

As a small organization, we work with a limited budget. Our board takes care of everything, from editing and social media to mentoring, creating content, setting up displays, managing accounts, and preparing official reports. This hands-on approach helps us keep costs down. Donations that are not set aside for a specific exhibit or program help cover our operating costs.

We appreciate every kind of support, whether it’s a check, a Facebook or PayPal donation, a social media birthday fundraiser, buying an anthology, volunteering at the WorkSpace, or joining our “Friends of the Museum” program. Every gift helps pay for student salaries, rent, internet, insurance, display cases, and conservation supplies. Every dollar helps.

Your support for the only museum solely dedicated to the history and accomplishments of US military families is not only a show of appreciation for those who serve alongside their service member, but also a guarantee that their legacies and stories will be preserved and shared with future generations.
